FAMILY HERITAGE:
Most of the avid scrappers out there are mothers with young families. However, I started scrapbooking when I was almost 60 and my mother and father were both gone. I had the preverbal box full of family photos. Most had been identified but there were many very old ones that I had no idea who they were and I had no way of finding out. What a loss.
I know when we have our mothers still with us, we tend to take for granted that they will be there for a long time. And they may be but how well will they be able to remember dates, places and events?
Consider your young children. When they are grown , what will they be able to tell their children about their great-grandmother?
Only what you have gathered from your parents to leave for them.
We, as parents, seem to focus on all the cute or memorable things our children do and neglect important heritage information.
If your children are old enough, give them the assignment of gathering information from Grandma; about what she knows about her parents and grandparents.
Be encouraged not to wait.

Sally has also put together a special booklet which provides many verses of inspiration, it is entitled
'Pillars of Stone'.
